Speechless Without Writers

Writer’s Strike Campaign of 2007

I was lucky enough to be a part if this great campaign during the writer’s strike of 2007. Kamala Lopez, George Hickenlooper, and I  initially ran this campaign out of our dining room and all of Hollywood hopped on board. The result was about 37 short films on the topic of Hollywood without writers. A playlist is above and starred the likes of Holly Hunter, Sean Penn, Woody Allen, Tim Robbins, Laura Linney and Harvey Keitel, just to name a just few. They were released every day for over a month through the blog Deadline Hollywood Daily.

When I met one of the Writer’s Guild presidents years later he attributed this as a major force to ending to completing the negotiations and ending the strike.
